HAMMITT is an experimental mystery (partly filmed at Normals) about an independent filmmaker, working on a documentary about Dashiell Hammett, who comes to Baltimore after his interview subject, elusive mystery writer Charles David Hammitt, has gone missing.

Filming on HAMMITT has been completed. HAMMITT is the 4th feature film collaboration by Matt Barry and Cullen Gallagher. The filming took place primarily on July 13 and 14, 2024, in Baltimore. What is HAMMITT? HAMMITT is an experimental comedy-mystery with elements of Structural film, essay film, mockumentary, silent film, found footage, and narrative.  What's it about? The premise involves an independent filmmaker, Jackson Bean, who is making a movie about mystery writer Dashiell Hammett and his time as a Pinkerton detective in Baltimore. For guidance in making his film, Bean has been corresponding with the elusive mystery writer/collector/historian Charles David Hammitt (that's Hammitt with an "i", no relation to Dashiell). But suddenly, Hammitt's letters stop, and Bean's efforts to contact him go unanswered. So Bean travels to Baltimore to find Hammitt in order to finish making his film. Where can I see it?
